The Holiday Drink – The Method

WThis is an easy interpretation of a cocktail featured on a new cocktail list. It's a batch premix that's packed with the tastes of the holiday season, making it excellent for your holiday party. Reserve the remaining syrup you can use for breakfast cocktails, puddings, or for more rounds of the drink.

Bikini Recipe

Makes enough for 10 guests

For the Clementine Syrup (makes 750ml)

300ml recently pressed clementine juice
200ml newly squeezed lemon juice
500g fine sugar

Ingredients for the Drink (makes 850ml, serving 10)

400ml premium vodka
100ml dry gin
150ml peach schnapps
200ml clementine cordial (see above)
Whole cranberries, as a garnish
Mandarin essential oil, to finish

Method

For the Citrus Syrup: Place the listed items in a saucepan, heat until it reaches a gentle boil, stirring so the sugar melts. After that, remove from the heat allowing it to cool down fully. Pour into a sterilised bottle, cap it and refrigerate it in the fridge, where it will keep for around one month.

For the Batch Mix: Pour the specified liquids in a large bottle, let it rest for 60 minutes, then filter it preferably using a fine cloth, to ensure it's completely strained.

For serving: Measure 85ml of your batch mix to a mixing glass packed with ice, and agitate lightly for about 60 seconds to chill. Pour into a cold coupe glass or a similar vessel, top with the cranberries and finish using a quick spritz with the mandarin essence above the glass.
